At 11:00AM 5-11-2007
I saw this bird for the first time.
A few days earlier A friend called
me to let me know that A friend of
hers had a Macaw that was in dire
need of help. At first I just brushed
it off as another sad story. And let
it go, Well after the third call I
thought I best check it out. I called
the Friends mother to make an
appointment to go up and see the
bird ( 77 miles one way)
The bird was living on a stump
of a perch about 3 feet long
for god knows how long and eating
pretty much a seed diet. I don't put blame on the poor woman as she was taking care of her husband
who was ill for a long. And after he passed way she still did her best to care for the bird. Not wanting
to give up her 25 year old pet. The mother gave in to her daughters repeated request to find a home
for the bird and thats where I come in. As I said I saw this bird for the first time at 10:00AM
5-11-2007, First my heart went out for the
bird then I thought what about what the
widow went though she lost her husband of
40 + years then had to give up her companion
bird and mascot of 25 years
On 5-11-2007 Jolly had a Vet Visit for wellness test and
blood work up, and nail trimmed.
On 6-2-2007 Jolly returned to the Vet to have her right
wing checked, It was X-rayed and found to be broken.
Seen in the photo on the right. The wing is twisted >--------------->
On 6-6-2007 Jolly is going in to have her wing set and
wrapped. This will be for about 5 weeks. We will add
updates as needed. Please check back for the updates Miss Jolly has come a long way in a short time
The Photos on this page where taken on 5-11-2007 for updated photos check back we will posting new photos soon.

Well here we are only 60 days in our flock and Miss Jolly is doing better then we ever expected
991g. She has moved in to my office so she could get all the rest she needed. Shortly after the move
we had to bring Oscar in to the office, When he was out with the other Macaws full time he turned
in to a wild and crazy guy and was hard to care for and out of control, Anyway the move was good
for Oscar and Miss Jolly you see Oscar is a he and Miss Jolly Is A She. They get along just fine
